For the last four years the Fire Fighters Foundation of Houston has been raising funds to purchase supplemental equipment and supplies for the men and women of the Houston Fire Department. An annual “The Face of Heroes…Answering the Call” dinner is held to show our community’s appreciation for these brave men and women that regularly risk their lives to protect our homes, families and businesses. We set aside September 11th each year to honor and remember.
This year the event will be held at Astrid and Gene Van Dyke’s beautiful home on Buffalo Bayou, located at 3940 Inverness Drive. As part of the evening’s agenda, we recognize members of the Houston Fire Department who have demonstrated particularly outstanding service with our Valor Awards. This year, the Valor Awards will honor, among others, Captain James Harlow and Fire Fighter Damion Hobbs, who tragically were killed fighting a fire earlier this year.
Our support of the members of the Houston Fire Department is more important than ever. Therefore, we hope that you will make a special effort to attend this celebration of service and valor and participate in this year’s dinner. It is with your support that we all can make a difference and provide life saving equipment. Our Houston Fire Fighters “Answer the Call” with the utmost professionalism, compassion and respect. As Chairman of the Foundation, Community Volunteer, and Businessman, it is with utmost pride that we send you this letter asking you to come and meet our local heroes and participate as a sponsor in this annual event.
Sponsorships are available from $2,500-$10,000 and individual tickets can be purchased for $250. Enclosed is a response form with the details along with a response envelope. 100% of the money raised goes to pay for special equipment and supplies requested by the Depanrnent along with minimal costs for dinner. For more information regarding the dinner please call Karen Lee Goulding at 832-247-8455 or go to www.fffhouston.com. We look forward to seeing you on September 11th!
